Pulling Nickname Before First Name

For any emails or text messages, the ability for the system to pull the nickname first, and if there is no nickname pull the first name instead. Several patients go by something other than their first name and when the system is automated it seems like we don't care what they prefer.

Yes, I would love this too!

Can this have one edit as a large solution? In the "Edit Contact", can we edit the nickname? Right now, Review wave is not pulling nicknames from our EHR, and I would like people getting text with their preferred names.

Is this an option? Our nicknames do not get pulled over to review wave from silkone. Is there a way to add a nickname in review wave. It is blocked from updating/adding in the edit contact screen.

Can this be set up for Chirotouch please. They don't have a nickname field. They use brackets following the first name. I would love to see this feature implemented ASAP!

YESS PLEASE ASAP!! This is extremely important. Some people have trauma around their legal names and the constant emails and texts with a name they don't use is a bad way to show our patients we care about them!

It also helps in case we don't know their legal first name off the top of our head when searching for them. I know our patient as Curt, but he's James in Review Wave. If I search Curt, it won't pull him up. It slows us down in a very busy office.

This is especially important in the trans community as people are shifting their identity but haven't changed things legally yet. A dead name can haunt you in many ways... if they are going to your clinic, it might haunt them 1-3 times per week.

Absolutely agree with this, many of our patients have strong feelings about being addressed by their legal name vs their nickname

I agree! Some patients REALLY dislike their legal first name and would not choose to use it routinely for scheduling. Make patients happy by using their nickname or preferred name.
